Re: ICEing
I do not believe that company ICE cars are tax deductible as asset purchases. OK, on that basis my assumption is wrong, thanks. Why should low paid earners pay tax so someone can get £3,500 off their £70,000 car? It makes no sense to me. I agree with the sentiment, but if the nation decides it need...

Re: ICEing
Not in the case of BEV's. You get 100% business tax write-off in year one. That assumes of course that the business is paying enough tax to take advantage of it. I don't know the correct terminology / figures but looking at the above don't I get "18% annual writing down allowance" on a Company ICE?...

Re: Polar/BP Chargemaster Email: Latest Install and News
Disputes over a ICEing at a single charge point at my Mum’s care home have led to two stand up arguments, leading to the charger being switched off by the management. Obviously I don't know any background (how much power they have available, how convenient to get it to the parking bays etc.) but if...

Re: ICEing
The write-off in year one is 100% of the car's value, but the asset will depreciate until the car is sold. Tax is then payable as a profit on disposal and will be a fraction of the original benefit. I only have a passing knowledge of accounting, but if I bought an ICE on the Company wouldn't I get ...

Re: ICEing
If the Government stopped grants on vehicles above £30,000 and gave a higher level of grant below that figure then perhaps it would encourage more people to buy a BEV ? Not sure about that. The BEV needs to be capable of the distance that the users needs to travel. I'd have no difficulty with match...

Re: ICEing
They are wondering if you’re going to do this Don't be daft. That isn't an iPace :) I sometimes get funny looks when I park at the pump ....... until I open the boot to take out the lawnmower jerry cans to fill up :o Husqvarna AutoMower is what you need :) My mower was knackered so had to be replac...

Re: How I plan my routes
1. Use ABRP, set charger arrival % at 20 to leave myself a 40m buffer for if the charger were to fail. That's what I do too. I just make a note of the departure %age for each refuelling stop and make sure I have at least that much. I'm happy being a geek when on my own, but if Wife is on her own a ...

Re: Model S vs I-Pace
In terms of long distance travel the new Model S Long Range Raven absolutely beats the I-pace. I, similarly, have done a simulation for " If I went skiing - Calais-Alps " and the Raven would need about 1h20m refuelling and 3 stops. That is less time than we stop when we drive now ... my existing Te...
