Brittany Ferries - "Recharge your batteries...."

I just got an email from Brittany Ferries with "Recharge your batteries" in the subject line. Whoopee, I thought, about time... but then the rest of the subject line is " head for the garden!" - it's just a flyer suggesting trips to visit gardens in Brittany, not announcing on-board EV charging. And...

Re: Preferred charging period

This topic has been much discussed. Basically, JLR’s implementation of setting charge times sucks. See the thread https://www.ipaceforums.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=1359&hilit=Preferred which is pretty old but I don’t think things have improved. As ChrisMc suggests, either use WattCatt, or get a mech...

Re: Recommended charge pattern?

From having studied all the posts on this forum for the last couple of years, the consensus is exactly what Maxwell_400 says, with the following minor variations in opinion: JLR insist that continual charging to 100% is fine; most forum members are a little sceptical of this and prefer to limit it t...

Re: Analysis: How ‘green’ is the electricity we use to charge our EVs?

I’ll probably get shot down for saying this, but I don’t see the relevance of a national, regional, local or even individual CI for electricity production in assessing the “green-ness” of an individual’s EV. Until we have, at a grid level, an excess of zero-C electricity available, any marginal cons...

Overall GROSS Energy Efficiency/Consumption

Having nothing much better to do in these days of lockdown, I have analysed my total electricity consumption in my 14.5 months of ownership, which I though might be of some interest. I have a meter and a mechanical timer on my home charger, so I can control the peak rate usage, and can accurately mo...

Re: New Owner Range Query

In the ICE days I suspect the fuel consumption of two cars with different drivers would have been equally random. But because "range" is a big deal for EVs it's getting a lot more focus than logic deems it deserves. I thinks there’s a lot of truth in this. Speaking personally - In all my time drivi...

Not quite Westworld 3 (whatever that is...) but did anyone else notice the “product placement” in BBC’s “The Split” - Caesium Blue I-Pace...

Re: Royal Warrant for iPace?!

No, it’s available; I asked when I bought. You just need to be willing to pay for the body shell to be shipped from Austria to UK to be painted then shipped back to Austria to finish assembly. A very environmentally friendly example being set by HRH... but it does look nice!

Re: British racing green wrap

Stunning. Why don’t you send the pics to JLR? Or better still, to the likes of Autocar who might publish them and shame JLR! The problem is the I-Pace is made (and painted) in Austria, where they seem to have a very limited palette. Loire Blue, a nice classy dark blue, also in the repertoire for man...

Re: Current updates at 2nd service

Just about to book in for my 2nd service and am wondering what updates I should be asking for at the same time. From the forum I have picked up references to H264/270/280, but have I missed any other important recent ones? 2nd service??? Do you do an enormous mileage? I thought it was 2yr/24K miles...
