Re: Tesla Quality Control Strikes Again!

The Model Y does not have a boot but I get your meaning. I rented a Model 3 in late 2018 when I was in LA. In the three days I had it, I had a chance to give it a good going over. The build quality was poor especially compared to the Model S that was parked next to it. I'd already placed my I-Pace o...

Re: AVAS - Sound for pedestrians

I am an iPace wannabe but I am confused about the AVAS sound - does the iPace make this sound and can you switch it off? My dealer says it makes no sound, but the online manual says it does.. Which is it? I live in a super quiet place, leave at 4am and have dogs.. I don't want them barking as the s...

Re: S20A_20.07.5-507626 SOTA

This is strange indeed. I can't remember the last time I've had to log in to the satnav/car although it does say 'Hello S please sign in' ???? I don't have any memories set and only one profile so if I'm logged out, how does it know that I'm 'S'? Yes, that’s the one. There’s a separate login for th...

Re: Ecotricity Preparing to sell its business

Dale seems more interested in his footie team than the energy business these days.

Re: S20A_20.07.5-507626 SOTA

ADD are you still having to sign in virtually every time you get in the car? S20A1 hasn't cured that one! To be honest I haven't seen much difference apart from the JLR flash screen hoping that I stay safe and well! Even that has worn out now! Well I haven't seen it for a week! Stay safe Ian Hi Ian...

Re: Charging using a Tesla Destination charge point

Thanks for that advice. I'm asking as when lockdown is eased here in Wales and I can drive further than 5 miles, I intend to visit family. Charge points of any sort are like hens teeth here in rural Wales! There is a Tesla Destination charge point that if I could use, and it would mean my trip is v...

Re: Charging using a Tesla Destination charge point

Has anyone used a Tesla Destination Charge point? I do NOT mean a Tesla Supercharger but the charge point you find at hotels, AC and Mennekes Type 2 plug. If it is usable which app or fob do you use to activate it? Stay safe Ian The short answer is 'It Depends'. The long answer is 'it Depends'. Tes...

Re: Security

You can reduce the chances of a theft by not leaving the key anywhere near your front door. You can go further and put it into a metal box (I use an old biscuit tin). This stops the smart alecs who have bits of kit that can spoof your key into life. The tin acts as a faraday cage. Then if it is nick...
