Re: EVs are becoming afordable

Surely if something isn't affordable it wouldn't sell? Same as affordable housing - even the most expensive houses are affordable to someone. Why not just say cheap? ;) I mean affordable for the masses. This does not mean cheap. By doing this, MG are making a very good EV that will sell at a simila...

Where are all batteries going to come from

If the goal of replacing ICE cars is to make EVs.....

The USA on it's own buys around 20,000,000 new cars a year. The world as a whole buys around 100,000,000 new cars every year.

Who is going to make the batteries in the quantity required?

In fact, is it even possible?

Edited the numbers above:-)

Re: Mi/kWh

Do you think the "expected" range improvement has happened in this update? Would be surprised if Jaguar has not made a statement about it. I honestly don’t know. Like you, I feel we’d have known something if that was the case. I can’t see this one slipping through without them shouting it from the ...

Re: Mi/kWh

Actually 3.79 mi/kWh (being a pedant - can't help myself :) ). Your 26kWh/100 mi gave you a 304.5 mile range Chewy. Compromise on 3.8? Using yours and SteveA's figures only give about 80kWh useable battery. Think it's been mentioned before. Forgot to mention that my battery health check showed a 3%...

Re: iPace ordered but now have Tesla doubts...

Having been back to both dealers - one then the other - twice in the last week I have finally made the decision to stick with the iPace. Looks, build quality and practicality of the boot winning out over the technology and performance of the Tesla. Close run thing in the end - and if the Model S wa...

Re: Mi/kWh

Not sure what happened, but I got my best ever consumption on my drive to work this morning. I always get just under 40 kWh/100 miles. It’s only a 7 mile commute so not overly efficient (short journeys mean high consumption usually). But today I managed 29.7 which is my best ever and equates to a 2...

Re: H228 - Modules that are updated

I am guessing, but if the dealer has implemented the H228 update then all the modules above will have been updated. You will notice that the H228 update does not require updating of the Telematics Unit nor the Infotainment System. This will be why people are still running with older software after t...

Re: Looks like it’s not just I-Pace that has charging issues

But don't Tesla have the biggest and best SuperCharger network in the world?

Why would they need to use chargers from a third party?

Re: UK Servicing - actual cost?

Umm... Compared to ICE car manufacturers they sell a tiny number of cars. Even then they don't have enough service capacity to look after them. Well, according to some other EV focussed forums we have been invaded by Model 3's... YMMV mmm... Ford sold nearly 1,000,000 F-Series trucks in the USA alo...
