Welcome.

When you say the Pod Point "trips" do you mean that the RCD/RCBO supplying it trips and then needs to be reset, or do you mean something else trips?

If the RCD/RCBO supplying the Po Point is tripping thent the most likely cause is an earth leakage fault. This may be in the car, or it may be within the Pod Point or its wiring. The way to test this is to try charging the car with the granny lead and see if that causes the circuit that the granny lead is plugged into to trip. If it does, then that point to a fault in the car, perhaps an insulation breakdown.

what is granny lead ? is it plug point lead .
yes i plugged into wall charger thru garage and it tripped as well.

The granny lead is the cable with the box in the middle that came with the car, and which can be plugged into a standard 13A wall outlet.

Can you clarify what is tripping, please?

Is it the RCD/RCBO (the thing that can be manually reset by flicking the switch upwards) in the circuit supplying the Pod Point or is it something else?

That depends where it is, it could be inside the car, inside the Pod Point or inside a cable somewhere. Only thing to do is to try and eliminate the cause. For example, if the fault is still there when you use the granny lead then that eliminates the Pod Point, it's wiring and the cable and connector to the car, so pretty much proving that the fault is with the car itself, most likely an insulation breakdown of some kind, either inside the charger (in the car) or in the wiring to it.

thanks for reply , when i plugged thru granny lead , it trips the electricity at home .
so is there something wrong with car ?

Yes, it would seem that the car has a charger/wiring fault, most probably an insulation breakdown somewhere. You could try calling Jaguar Assistance if the car is still covered by the warranty. They will then come out and check the car and most probably take it away to be repaired, which may or may not be your local dealer.

Cable and pod point works ok with other electric car ? seems like problem with car - and Jaguar dealer cant look at car until Feb , no local garage would like to touch it.
electric cars are doomed
Definitely a problem with the car, then.

If the car isn't still covered by the original warranty, or an extended warranty that includes Jaguar Assistance cover, then you could try and find a local HEVRA garage. HEVRA is a network of independent electric car garages. In my experience they are often very good. You can search for a HEVRA garage near you here: HEVRA- Hybrid and Electric Vehicle Repair Alliance

I had this issue once with Pod Point, gave them a call and they fixed it over the phone, just had to reset the mains electric supply.
