Jim B,
The recall letter states that the software update provides enhanced driver warnings in relation to HV battery condition. In the event the software determines a risk exists, the HV battery charging capacity is limited to up to 75% to reduce risk and the vehicle will prompt you to visit a Jaguar retailer. He will inspect and if necessary replace the affected HV battery at no cost. That’s fine but every Jaguar driver is taking a risk every time he drives the car, and what is this doing to the valuation of the car?

After having H441 my car with Touch Pro software still show this: BR-AAG-BD-AD-BE as before update.

Some say that after H441 the first two letters should be BS, but mine is till BR as before. Can anybody with Touch Pro software, and have the H441 update say what their first letters are ?

We all take a risk every time we drive that there could be a mechanical failure, or a tyre puncture, or a crash of some sort no matter what the car is. The software update is preventing the risk of a thermal overload/runaway situation - it has reduced the risk of something that didn't seem to be a large risk in the first place. We don't know if this could be functionality that already exists in other cars, or is missing from other cars which makes ours comparatively safer.

Unless we start seeing a lot of cars getting these warnings I don't think it will impact the value, and just like the heat pump if fixing it starts costing too much they'll change the battery design for replacements.

So, if the Jaguar retailer is satisfied that a no-cost battery replacement is not necessary, can the car be charged to 100% again?

After four attempts to update, the car is now reporting 100psi in all the tyres, I assume it might have installed - I'll check when I get back home later today!

The 75% limit will only be imposed if there is a problem. So unless it detects a problem, it will still charge to 100% all the time.

I charged to 100% the day after the 4.0 update as I had forgot to reset the 80% limit. No issues with charging and no change to the efficiency.

Had my H441 this morning and mine has changed -
from - BR-AAJ-BE-AE-BE
to - BS-AAJ-BE-AE-BE

Every indication is that this update is to 'BS.' I had my BECM updated at the dealer several weeks BEFORE the recall software was released, and received BR.

Hi derbybiker

I had my BECM updated on the 6th of April by Jaguar Assistance. This is the photo I took just before handing it to the service centre. My 2020 (Sep2019) TouchPro has had the H441 update and so when I collect the car tomorrow I’ll be able to tell you what I see. It won’t upload the photo but mine was:

BR-AAK-BF-AF-BE on the 24th of April

Prior to this update my software was updated by the dealer on 16th March.
Does anybody know what the 5 codes refer to?
I've tried searches but found nothing definite.

I now have the same issue mine is now showing 102psi on all tyres, this has only happened since the new software, hopefully it will eventually put itself right (hopefully?)

It might be that the these letters are updated manually by the technician in Touch Pro (?), and sometimes forgotten. I will do a check at my dealer over summer. I think something was done as my seat memory was lost but they also changed the windscreen and did some checks/calibration so who knows ?

Upgrade shown as available, first attempt failed to install, it then said it was ready to install again so I scheduled it for overnight but it didn't work. Its now disappeared and Pivi Pro is reporting its up to date at V3.3.3 with no upgrades available? 2021 HSE so its should have just worked - what now? Anyone else had this?
Exactly the same story here. The battery is charged at 80%, I have no idea what went wrong, but I don't get any update prompts to 4.0.

Had my MY20 done today by Jardines in Wolverhampton. Overall a very positive experience, upgrade went without a hitch and the car was hoovered - should have been washed too, but the machine was down.

Sure it’s a massive coincidence and nothing more but I achieved a much better efficiency on the drive home from Wolverhampton than I ever have before - and I do that route a lot.
