Has anyone else received the VR pack with the google goggles? I guess this is is to do with the launch but it all I can say it makes me feel very old. I would much rather be invited to a pre launch event at Gaydon to see the car. I doubt that the VR kit will persuade me to commit to the car, seeing it in real life might do!

Thanks for the Link. Interesting it's a 6pm .. I wonder if the online configurator will be live after the event or a 00:01 on the 1st :?
I imagine that they will need the configurator working by the time that the launch starts otherwise they will be getting lots of website visits that are wasted. I spoke to my dealer on Saturday 24th Feb). He says that he can place my order as soon as he has an email with the configuration I want - that's what starts the ordering process. Perhaps that means the Norwegian order we have already seen was created with the configurator? In which case it will be ready to turn on whenever they want to. Apparently no further deposit is needed at this stage and it will be some time before the specification will be fixed so you can submit a specification and then change it afterwards. My dealer said that their launch event was going to be in early May so I expect to be able to change my mind about the spec well after that. If I remember correctly I placed my F-Pace order in March and got delivery in October but did not have to fix the spec until about August.

Great size comparison - i-pace between f-pace and e-pace.... Really shows how far forward they've been able to take the cabin.

An exciting week awaits!

I think the effect is exaggerated by the very large windscreen. In the photo the front seats in the I-Pace appear to be lined up exactly with those in the the F-Pace and there is only a small difference in the position of the B posts. The rest of the difference is in the way that the center of F-Pace bonnet sticks out. So overall the driver might be nearer the front by only 3 or 4 inches.
I had the privileged of sitting in a prototype I-Pace back in November and I felt very much at home :D The biggest difference is that from inside the car the bonnet looks far smaller (particularly lower) than the F-Pace and if you lean forward a bit you can see the floor ahead through the vent in the bonnet. I love my F-Pace but the I-Pace is far better looking.

Here is the latest press release about it:

Jaguar will livestream the global premiere of its first electric vehicle (EV), the I-PACE, at 18:00 GMT on 1 March.

Thousands of prospective customers have already pressed the 'I want one' button to register their interest in the hotly anticipated electric performance SUV, and Jaguar is responding by throwing the doors to its live-reveal wide open by hosting an online broadcast on its social channels.

Full pricing and specifications will be announced and order books opened for full configurations immediately following the reveal.

The I-PACE is Jaguar's newest member of the PACE family and is the EV drivers have been waiting for, delivering sustainable sports car performance, all-wheel-drive agility and five-seat SUV practicality.

Ian Callum, Jaguar Director of Design, said: "Since revealing the I-PACE Concept in 2016, we have been counting down to this moment. The all-electric I-PACE is not only a pioneer within our business, it promises to revolutionise the industry. Never before have I been so excited for a launch - the world is watching with great anticipation and I cannot wait for the world to see everything we have achieved with this car."

The I-PACE will be capable of rapid charging from zero to 80 per cent in 85 minutes* and has been rigorously tested across extremes of terrain and temperatures from -40°C to 40°C.

With over 1.5 million test miles and a further 11,000 hours of rig simulations completed by more than 200 production prototypes, Jaguar's design and engineering teams have created a world-class all-electric SUV.

The official public debut of I-PACE will be at the Geneva Motor Show on 6 March.

"The I-PACE will be capable of rapid charging from zero to 80 per cent in 85 minutes*"

This is the part of the press release which worries me! If the battery is really 90 kWh, then everybody here can do his math, how "fast" the charging is....

Well, now Jaguars press release says:

"The I-PACE will be capable of rapid charging from zero to 80 per cent in 45 minutes*"
*on a 100kW charger

That is much better!
.
Are there any fast chargers greater than 50kW's in the UK ? or EU ?

I wonder, will the configurator go online today or next week?
Will the configurator be on the Jaguar sites of each country or on a special site?

I will not be able to watch the live event, because of work, but I hope it will be available for watching later!
