Hi, my first edition 2019 now is a disaster.
Wire harness replaced. Actuator replaced. The car still remains unusable (no P mode). The park pawl is broken and the dealer wants to replace my front motor for €11000. Please help.
The dealer agreed that they will replace the park pawl lock for €1500 if I can get a used one. Any suggestions?
Every issue on my car is caused by missing H288 recall however my VIN is included in the affected vehicles.
JLR replied:
Nonetheless, we would like to inform you that the mentioned vehicle is not affected by a recall campaign. This is not an official recall measure, but rather a service action intended only for certain vehicles. The VIN of your vehicle does not fall within the affected range.
Thank you for your understanding.

Unless it's likely to be a safety issue they wont need to address all cars - just the ones that are affected.
It's same with H441 battery module they dont replace all battery packs just the ones where there is an issue.

Toyota took a slightly different approach with some of theirs as they like their customers to visit. They can let them know theyve had a look and fixed the ones that need repair. Besides, with such good service, when the customer is on site they may be tempted to trade up to a new model.

It has this part number: T4K9603

There are several (new) for sale at EBAY I bought and replace one some 9 months ago and it works quite fine.

I really doubt a "genuine" JLR dealership would replace your pawl actuator with a second hand used one.
They are simply not allowed to, according to JLR rules.

I replaced it myself, which is ok, according to my rules.
