Reversing Sensor Woes

iPace is in with the main-dealer today as the reversing sensors aren't working (red box around sides and rear of vehicle in the display) .... forwards work fine.

Bought 2nd hand, and no warranty available - but am a bit of a gambler having owned FFRRs for many years.

Local Indi took a look but couldn't scan the Parking Sensor Module ... so was sorta thinking that that had failed and I'd be be looking ÂŁÂŁÂŁ for a replacement for that.

So off to the main dealer ... and had to stump up ÂŁ200 diagnostic fee. Fair enough.
Their report is that that right-side-rear sensor has failed and ... wait for it ... ÂŁ595 (inc VAT) for a replacement.

Can this even be remotely reasonable ?

The ÂŁ600 is probably half labour and half part cost. If you want to go the second hand route then Charles Trent is your friend. A breaker with a large number of I Paces.
A tip for the future. Sometimes you can diagnose which parking sensor it is by going round and touching each one. One may feel different. You need a volunteer to sit with their foot on the brake with the car in gear.

It’s a £84k luxury car with a price tag on parts and repairs to match. Clive.
