Why would I want software from a car company when all the phones in my family have superb navigation built-in? Recently I've rented a couple cars with Android Auto and that's the level of navigation I want. Some cars that have navigation also let you override it with Android Auto or the iOS equivalent.

The onboard navigation also works when in underground car parks and amongst tall city buildings, because it takes inputs from wheel sensors to provide 'dead reckoning' positioning. I once had a JLR product that developed a fault with the GPS antenna, and it could complete an entire journey (50+ miles) by relying on dead reckoning.
