Software update

Post by DSL » Thu Jul 02, 2020 11:53 am

Hi,

I am on software versions 19C AND 16.2. Looking at previous posts regarding SOTA I have called two Jag dealers near me to ask if SOTA was enabled. Both just say no outstanding campaigns for car but I tried to ask second if they could look in the software area of the vehicle on Topix and make sure the slider was turned to on. Not sure either understood what I was asking and just said nothing showing for car on VIN......Does anyone have a dealer who managed to do this over the phone? or could it be they are right and I dont require any update?

Thanks for any advice

There is a software upgrade for your car to get to S20A.
I rang my dealership in Norwich they pushed the software to my car and I activated the update and all just happened.
Without the dealership pushing the software the update will not happen.
Hope this helps and good luck.

Hi

It’s hard with NHS fleet as a bit no home. Anyway I rang Jaguar Berkshire and spoke to really helpful service guy and he did the push whilst I was on the phone with him. Try them 😀

You shouldn't have to ring your dealer. When you collected your car your dealer should have enabled automatic SOTA updates. On handover my dealer went through everything including me accepting the terms and conditions for receiving SOTA updates automatically. I've had the car a year now and I've received every SOTA update without any reference to the dealer. I'm now on 20A.

Hi,

Car is a lease and was delivered by a third party company (BCA). SIM card was sorted but no handover as such partly due to covid etc - Original PDI was Feb but I didnt get the car until May.

my experience, in the US, was that moving the slider did not actually send the update. I needed the update link to be clicked...then it went. I hope, that now that this has happened, future updates 'will just flow' but I'll guess I'll find out with 20C late this month.

If it's a Lease then what do the Lease company have to say? As it's their car they should be ensuring that it's up to date software wise.

I tried NHS fleet first they said contact local dealer for any issues. Its sorted now the 4th dealer I called gave me the jaguar advice email who sorted in an hour. Bit worrying that some dealers have no clue about this.
