Software Help

Post by Andyt1979 » Wed Aug 07, 2019 7:14 am

Hi there.

I am looking for a bit of help on which version of software my car should be on and see if there is a solution available to the issues I am having with my car.

I took delivery of my car in May 2019 - Making it a 2020 model (HSE).

Since then I received an OTA software update on 7/7/2019.

My car currently reports that its "InControl Touch Pro Software" is running at - Version:S19A_19.20.4-363281

The Telematics software version is: 14.2

Is there a newer piece of software available for my car? If so how do I get hold of it? I have just checked and the car is reporting that all its software is up to date.

I am currently having bugs with:

Car always reports 201 mile range when fully charged

Car forgets my "creep" setting

Forgets local wireless networks settings

Local Deezer software only allows browsing of artists to late "L"

ETC ETC

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Andy

Wondering if you have had the H228 recall carried out?

The Creep problem will be fixed in S19B which was due out end of July, so possibly not far away.

Mine in up to date with everything and has a list of 14 major software issues that I have made my dealer aware of. None of which were fixed by the H228 update.

The one thing I would get is the telematics up to version 16.2 ASAP.
However, it will not fix any of your issues, but it will prevent you getting black screens.
Black screens are one of the worst errors you can get with this car.

Hi

Is 16.2 the version that does not show a version number when you check?

I’m still on 14.2 and have never ever had a black screen of death.

Many have. I had many small times black screen, where it’s up on next drive, but one time it lasted for 5 days and last time over a week.
Now I have 16.2, and it’s hopefully gone for good (not seen it yet 🥳)

I'm not sure that the telematics version alone is the cause of black screens as I've never had any with 6 months on 14.2 and a couple of weeks on 16.2.
My car was delivered around the same time as Goshdernit (probably the same software and modules batch) and I've never had a black screen of death either.

Let’s hope it remains like that.

Collected mine in January. Built in December. Telematics 14.2. Never had a black screen or an app disconnection. There’s more complexity to the problem than telematics version alone.

According to the in-car display, Telematics is "battery management" firmware, so why it would have anything to do with BSODs ?
The S19A firmware is for "In Control", so a much more likely candidate for display problems.
Incidentally Tele 16.2, though preferring to remain anonymous, does (temporarily) populate the 16.2 version in the display if you prompt it by tentatively clicking "update"
My HSE is a MY20 with a 829... VIN so falls well outside the H228 recall VIN range.
People keep referencing it here as if it's applicable to every car. Not so.
My dealer, (car collected 29/6) had updated the car to S19A_19.11 and Tele 16.2 and assured me it would SOTA update as necessary. Despite which it still insists that S19A_19.11 is "up to date" even though there's evidence in this forum that many cars are at 19.20 or 19.24.
I'm wondering if these S19A versions are all VIN range/Region specific (like H228), hence the discrepancy between members here.
Maybe we'll all come into line when S19B finally arrives and fixes all the niggling little memory lapses of 19A.
I'm a dreamer.
