No use for CarPlay? You must be kidding! Even car makers are dropping interfaces and apps because people just don' t use/need them anymore since they replaced them with CarPlay...

Isn't CarPlay Apple? I have no use for it. ;)

Forgive me if I am being stupid here and no offence to anyone who has previously posted but why do your phones have to be out on display in your cars? What is wrong with opening the centre console arm rest and plugging your phones into one of the two USB charging/connection ports in there? Then sit your phones snugly into the piece of elastic on the inside of the console (passenger side of the console).

What USB3.1 incompatibility are you seeing? I know the i-Pace doesn't see exFat file systems, only FAT32, but my 3,2 USB works perfectly...

I think it's a question of confort (or laziness), keep the phone in your pocket, if it's a quick drive, or just put it on the wireless charger... Wireless CarPlay connects without your intervention... I haven't used my phone cable in years!

I just use the mobile phone slot in between the two cup holders. I have a cable running through the notch provided for exactly that purpose under the lid of the centre console. I bought a nice leather wrapped Jaguar charging cable (expensive but nicer than white cable). Get in, slot phone into console slot upside down, plug cable in and go. Takes about two seconds longer than a wireless charger would take and the phone is secured in place and can’t slide around.
