InControl Update S19A_19.24.2-375121 Released Today

Post by Pcheaven » Thu Jul 11, 2019 8:35 pm

Well.

What a total load of bollox. WTF are JLR doing, given the number of genuine issues with existing software then this is yet another pointless update.

Only posting for completeness, I advise don’t bother reading - there is nothing here

Yep pretty useless. I guess the issue is SOTA and not that JLR release updates. If the feature worked as intended then we would all be receiving a notification that a download was available.

"Known issues in this release"

I rather suspect Jaguar has not quite reported all the known issues that are currently known by owners of the I-Pace.

crc@jaguar - what is the official way of reporting issues with the software?

Talking to the dealer has absolutely no affect.

Totally agree with you, Chewy. We really need something like a defined direct feedback channel to JLR to report issues back directly to the manufacturer. Is it really so difficult for JLR to accept that customer feedback is an essential part of succeful business nowadays? We are not living anymore in the 1990s and communication technologies, society and customer behaviour have evolved

I understand there is a group of owners selected by JLR as early adopters who do indeed feed directly back their experiences. My dealer mentioned this to me only today.

I'm one of them. The Jaguar Advisory Board is more of a marketing survey kinda thing, but I've left them some pretty pointed words about needing reasonable release notes, SOTA, and a software release schedule. The wheels of progress turn slowly, even on a jag. 🤷

I've reported our concern to a JLR contact of mine. Hopefully they can address our frustration with a bit of clear information. There are currently numerous issues with InControl that are very easy to reproduce. It's very surprising if they are not aware of the issues but then again, they give is no channel to report them so who knows. Perhaps they just have close to zero testing and QA before shipping new infotainment versions to production.

I got the 19.20 after calling the service technician at the dealer 3 days ago. They released it in Topix for my VIN and I checked for updates and installed it - worked without any problems.
Today in the afternoon I jumped into the Jag to drive home from a customer and got the notification automatically that the update to 19.24 is available. I got this without any prior request to the dealer. I assume this was (hopefully) real SOTA because it did not request it directly at the dealer before. Anyone else with such news?
