Lag in Navi

Post by Caman » Sun Jul 14, 2019 12:13 am

Hi.
Drove my first drive with help of the Navi today.
I've just installed the lasted navi update.
What I experienced was that the Navi "froze" /laged several times during both of my 2,5 hour drives.
As a result I missed some turnes, as it sometimes laged for about 200m, and I had to guess were to take off to.

Anyone else that has experienced this?
Any quick fixes?
2019 First Edition, Corris Grey, Oyster interior, 22” diamond cut rims.
Norway.

InControl: S19A_19.24.2-375121 (No lag, smooth..)
Telematics: 16.2 updated to "invisible"
Updated BCM
Updated H228

Mine did the same with 18D software. Since upgrading to 19A I have not seen this.

Not sure how long you have had your I-Pace, but you should perhaps have a software update applied at your dealers.

Thank you.
I've had it for one month, and have had it at the dealer 4 times for update.
Now everything is updated, I'm told, exept for the incontrol.
Should come as a Sota, but I think my dealer has forgotten to open for this in Topix, and now they are no longer answering phones or sms regarding this...
Never had a car spending this much time at the dealers ever...

Your tagline says you are still on 18D for the infotainment system.

Quite a few are on this and I think they have this issue.

Been on 18D since I took delivery of the car. Actually spoke to a few folks at Jag during today's formula E race, what they told me was that eventually i-Pace will phase out their software and go all out on Carplay or Android Auto.

Interesting - and entirely logical, I think. I already use CarPlay for navigation rather than the jaguar nav
it’s here! Arrived 29.04.19, HSE, MY20, Caesium Blue, tan interior, black bits

Terrible idea. I want a car I can drive without a bloody phone.

Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are in no way standalone systems that can power an infotainment system. They simply use the infotainment system as an external display. There is no support for climate controls, IPC, vehicle settings, etc.

Android offers Android Automotive as a fully featured in-car infotainment system which will be featured in the upcoming Polestar 2. I've tested an early version and it was extremely good and light-years ahead of what most other manufacturers currently have. Super responsive, easy to use, fantastic visualizations and generally just a superb user experience. No phone, no Google account or even internet connection required. Apple currently has no equivalent product.

From what I know there are currently no plans to develop an Android Automotive based infotainment system for JLR vehicles. Next gen infotainment development is currently in early stages and is based on a different OS.

Tldr; whoever told you JLR will eventually "go all out on Apple CarPlay and Android Auto" does not know what they are talking about.

Norwegian dealers will not push out software updates to vehicles via SOTA. They will use SOTA to install software updates while your car is at the dealer since it's significantly faster for them than a traditional wired install, but until SoTA is rolled out globally there is no willingness to push it out to individual customers here.
