I thought I posted this earlier, but I guess I forgot to press "submit":

All the insurance websites I came across that require you to specify the make/model of the tracker have a drop-down list that is years out-of-date and doesn't show the JLR InControl one, so you have to finalise your quote over the phone. If you've gone through a cashback site like Quidco or TopCashback, that means you probably won't get anything back.

It was a while ago, so I cant remember. I've just checked on confused and my wife was quoted £400 with LV, which isnt too far off what she pays for her 8 year old Audi A3. Next provider, One Call is £900.
Is that high mileage, bad postcode or low NCB ?
I'm with OneCall @ £400 (which includes redundant breakdown cover I sha'n't need till 2022). Audi (same insurer £200 for several years without an increase)
Ex A3 e-tron (138mpg over 4 years)
Now in Black HSE (every tech option, no bling) MY20 VIN 829.. IC S19B_19.35 Tele 16.2 Maps 100.153
Awaiting PV, Powerwall, Zappi.
Looking forward to free motoring. (barring the cost of all the kit !)

Watch for the excess on the cheap ones. I had a few quotes that looked really good but then I realised they had a £3,000 excess!

All my price comparison research is done with identical parameters, including excess.
I do go for a voluntary excess anyway.
Even if I had to cough up £500 this week towards fixing a prang, I'd still be quids in from the savings on premiums over the 30+ years of no claims.

£346.99 with MoreThan -
18yrs protected no claims - no points (yet) - garaged - 10k miles/year - age55 - £750 compulsory + voluntary £250 excess = £1k.

Going back to the Tracker topic - I was lead to believe that the approved tracker device for insurance purposes (not the InControl ap) - was included on all models up to and including MY19. MY20 on-wards it was optional extra £200 - £250 or something around that price.
Delivered March2019. MY19 I Pace SE Corris Grey, black pack, privacy glass, black wheels, pano roof, 0-60 4.5secs - No spare wheel due to the ridiculous storage solution.

If you're unsure about the tracker go to Incontrol online and it'll list secure tracker as a service if you have it (and show the expiry date).
Navrik Black HSE, 22" 5056 wheels, air suspension and dynamics, pano roof, privacy glass, and rear mounted bike carrier (but no wiring harness yet!).

Yeah it's quite confusing. My understanding is the theft recovery tracker is still referred to as part of the InControl suite, though it's not the same thing as just using the app on your phone to track the car (presumably it uses the same underlying tracking system and data though), so it's correct to refer to it as "Jaguar InControl Secure Tracker". This is included on all cars, including MY20. The £200ish optional extra now offered on MY20 models is the InControl Secure Tracker Pro, which has enhanced features (can't remember what, not sure if it meets Thatcham Class 7 perhaps).

I'm not sure if the JLR sales literature is deliberately vague around this in the hope of getting people to opt for the Pro option, not realising a Thatcham Class 6 tracker comes as standard.

The app IS a Cat 6 tracker
The £200 option (pro) is an extra onboard hidden device and is Cat 7

The difference between the app and the one that Jag use is that the Jag one allows them to track your car’s position in real time when it’s moving. The app only updates when the vehicle is parked.
