Difference basis LED and premium LED

Post by Jelle v/d Meer » Thu May 17, 2018 3:19 pm

I know that the premium LED looks better certainly with the daylights but besides looking better is there any other difference between the 2 options?

What do you get extra for the €1,220 upgrade (if you have I-pace S) besides J-blades, daylight lighting and headlight spraying? When driving will you see/notice any difference is the strength/width/length of light beam?

On the F-Pace the difference was noticeable when using high beams ... if you live in a very rural areas that are pitch black at night, I would suggest the upgrade.

However if you live near a town/village and have mostly light roads at night, I would save the cash or use on another option.

I never found I had an issue on my F-Pace (and I had the even worse halogens!) but then I live near the M25 and a well light town.

I may be wrong, but I thought that the chief benefit of the matrix LEDs was a much more controllable 'dip' setting, ie less glare for oncoming drivers while still providing good illumination of your side of the road?

The question is not about upgrade to Matrix LED headlights that is a further upgrade. There are 3 levels:
* standard LED lights
* premium LED lights
* matrix LED lights

My question is about standard vs premium.

Here's a good article about the light from the brochure of landrover.

Thanks for sharing but that seem to be even more premium upgrades than matrix LED

Standard are legally what they nee to provide.

Premium are better! Brighter and project further (fractionally wider - although I suspect this more down to the brightness and light bleeding)

How much better will depend on your perspective. As I said before, if you was in total darkness you will notice a difference. However if you are in a town at night with street lighting the difference will be harder to see.

Live in a Rural Area / Always dark? Get the Premium

Live in a city / well light areas? Save the cash, stick with Standard.
