Hi all
Now that it’s getting cold I expect most will be making use of the heated front screen if it comes on your model. How impressed are you with it’s performance? Honestly my 1997 ford escort had one that was more effective than the jaguar. The little elements are definitely visible through the screen just like the Ecort, and I do see some evidence of it working (slight straight lines appearing in parts of the screen) but it takes ages to work. The Escort was almost immediate that you knew it was on, the ipace is more like “is it on yet?” For me.
Just wondering what you think of yours.
Heated windscreen performance
Re: Heated windscreen performance
I've only used mine are part of preconditioning and it works very well indeed. Ok, so I have no reference point from another car to base this on.
The Evoke that I'm driving (The I-Pace is in for a battery investigation) has it but even yesterday, the luke warm water solution worked just as well.

Re: Heated windscreen performance
Just dit a test with frozen windows, in about 15 sec all clear
the rear window is a lot slower. After 40 minutes Still frozen

Re: Heated windscreen performance
Thanks guys. So I'm basing it on the speed with which it clears mist internally, something the blowers seem to have more effect with rather than the elements in the screen. I'll wait for a frozen day and see whether the ice melts as quickly as you mention. The Rear one is rubbish though agreed, even when you precondition the car I come out and the back screen is frozen over or misty at least, when the front is clear.
Re: Heated windscreen performance
My rear screen doesn't clear, i've booked it in for investigation, seems like a supply issue as everyone is suffering from it.
