EDF buys Pod Point

Post by Chewy » Fri Feb 14, 2020 11:34 am

EDF has announced the purchase of Pod Point.

Not sure what this means for the future.

What does it mean for the future?

That's easy.

1) Price rises for non EDF domestic customers.
2) Type 2 Charging to cost £££££. Currently free in most places like Tesco's.

Simple innit?

For those of use with a pod-point solo It probably delays the release of any new features on the unit...

We were hoping to see timed charging at some point this spring.....

I've been waiting since 2017 for an update to the software. It was supposed to be available in Aug 2017.

I also wonder if the fact that the Pod-Point servers are down has something to do with this news?
