As far as I am awre no I do not have a load balancer. I have never had any problems with the previous Nissan Leaf of our Mercedes B250 Electric.

Firstly I’d avoid anything that has an ecotricity badge on it. They are pure junk and even if your lucky to start charging they cut out most of the time in my experience. The best charger I have found for use are Instavolt. Always working, easy to use with any contactless card and give excellent speeds. If you have any close by I’d recommend charging there and recording the results. Also there are lots of members, maybe find another owner in the same area and meet up for a charging session to compare.

I agree with the Instavolt comment. They are incredibly reliable. Not the cheapest but sometimes it’s worth paying more for reliable service.

You’ve a few Instavolt choices depending which area your normally in. If you ever find your way in the direction of Chelmsford let me know and I’ll be happy to compare charging speeds.

Hello, Just tried using the Ecotricity chargers this afternoon for the first time and they only charged at 7KW per hour, same as my home charger.
Am not happy, this kind of renders the car useless for long distance motorway driving as all service stations seem to have Ecotricity charges.

Ummm, you probably plugged in using the 3Phase AC charge connector?

Also, you aren’t forced to use MSAs for charging on long journeys.

For rapid charging you need to make sure you use a DC charger with a CCS connector. If you use a Type 2 connector you’ll only get 7kw charging.
