Software versions

Post by JonB » Sun Jan 13, 2019 1:22 pm

Both Goshdarnit and I got our cars earlier this week in the UK and we both seem to have 14.2 and 18C software. However some folk have posted that they have 15.2 and 18D but I haven't been able to figure out if they are in the UK, US or elsewhere. Does anyone here in the UK have 18D and 15.2 and if so did those get installed OTA or by your dealer and when? If by your dealer, could you say who they were so my own dealer can get up to speed.
However if you have 18D and 15.2 and you are not in the UK, could you say where you are and then we can work out if these versions are region specific and not available in the UK?
Many thanks.

JonB,

I have 14.2 and 18D (installed at Beadles, Watford), which I am assured by others from JLR is the current latest software for UK.

Those who have reported 15.2 and 18D have all been from NL, so I am not sure if that software is unique to their territory. If anybody outside NL has 15.2, it would be interesting to hear.

I did no see any screenshots of 15.2 yet.

My car was delivered December 21st and already had 14.2 and 18D installed (NL, Lelystad dealer).

Only issues so far:
- car couldn't be reached by app, website or even in control team at Jaguar. Solved after few days and only happened once.
- timeouts when setting departure time ( by works after few tries)
- settings like active steering with LKA (instead of vibration) and climate control settings are lost once in a while
- camera lag
- CCS seems limited to 30kW, but only tried once with SoC around 60% and only for 15 minutes which resulted in less than 8kWh at a 175kW Fastned charger.
- No Android auto

And some hardware issues that require adjustment:
- passenger door rear right doesn't close well until you "slam" it.
- same for frunk. Sometimes seems closed, but can't lock the car until I open it and slam it to close it.
- charge port door doesn't align well.

15.2 really exists! Got this screenshot from a (Dutch) i-Pace friend.

Mine is still on 14.2 but will get the update to 15.2 this Tuesday. Very curious what changes/improvements/fixes/enhancements it will bring...

Today the dealer installed 15.2 and 18D in my i-Pace.

New InControl Nav feature seems to be ‘Battery Range’’ (Accubereik in Dutch) visualisation.

Interesting, I visited Jaguar Hilversum (NL) for an update too and 'only' got the Telematics 15.2 (took a good hour), but still on the "C" version of the main Infotainment InControl (instead of the updated "D" I'm seeing above). Would say the cruise control got better (in ECO not 'racing upwards' anymore as before) other than that, still very laggy system and also I had the screens go dark again when a CCS charge failed at a horrible broken EWE charger on the road to Hamburg.

My car is still with the dealer, I have not taken delivery yet because he's waiting for a part that failed pre-delivery inspection.

I was just explicitly denied 15.2; the dealer says he received an email from JLR stating that an update that wasn't triggered by a problem *voids the warranty*

That's unacceptable if you ask me. Either JLR has a terrible policy or the dealer is feeding me BS. What is it?
