Hello, hope one of you wonderful people can help as main dealer are being numptys! Flap works fine when ambient above 0. When below it will not open, tried a bit of grease but no luck. I had something to do with this repaired when new as the flap indiction light as open would stay on. Now the garage says well it works now, i say have you put the car in a freezer to test it? But they say they can't do anything. Surely its a known issue or replace parts would be what I'd do? Any help much appreciated.

The flap can get stuck irrespective of ambient temperatures. The small servo motor which unlocks the flap can get broken. 200 EU+ repair. Perhaps yours is about to break down??
On my flap the locking pin has been removed by the dealer because it stayed stuck. Unable to charge. Dealer forgot to repair it with the pending service. I kept it that way.

Mine got stuck locked once. Nothing to do with the cold i don't think, just the mechanism that failed. Jag Assist fixed on site after a couple of days waiting on the part, which turned out to be the whole chargeport fascia. Seemed a bit wasteful but apparently its difficult to get out without breaking tabs. I was able to force it open using a technique mentioned on here to charge.

Last cold snap mine did get stuck open i.e i couldn't close it properly. Once it warmed up, all was good again.

You can remove the charge port cover fairly easily when door is open and remove the locking pin with a torx screw if you want to operate manually, which i am considering given how annoying it is when it fails one way or the other!
