H441 Battery Recall Software is Now Available

As of today, JLR published several new documents regarding the battery recall in Topix for my US spec 2020. They updated the original bulletin (attached), and also provided dealer service instructions for updating the BECM software. The customer letter and a Questions & Answers document were also published, and all are attached here. According to the QA doc, the new version of the software is now available. I also noted that the H441 service campaign is now showing for my vehicle, whereas it wasn't previously.

I have my car booked to go into the dealer on Friday, and will report back on the new version. I'm already running the very latest BECM software, so it will be interesting to see how many modules get updated.

Odd, no outstanding campaign for my UK MY20 iPace? However did have BECM updated a few weeks ago due to a 12v charging issue. Wonder if already now has relevant software?

Thanks for sharing. It seems MY21 and onwards won't be recalled but the update will be applied when Pivi 4.0.0 will be deployed OTA.
It doesn't say how and if the update will have an effect on charging curve and max energy stored in battery (and hence on range....)

Edit: H441 showed up on Topix for my car too (MY21)

All it does is monitor the battery during charging and if an abnormal event is detected it stops charging at 75% gives a battery fault and if this occurs you go to the dealer where the defect will be cured even if it is a replacement HV battery. In the meantime if you are worried before the update is installed limit charge to 75% that will affect range.

I'm not worried at all about the battery, I often keep an eye on its parameters using Torque Pro: SoH is 92%/93.5%/94% after 49.000 km, Delta mV among weakiest cell and stronger cell is less than 20mv in steady conditions, less than 40mV under strong acceleration. To my understanding my battery seems to be in pretty good conditions.

To be honest, I'm rather worried that JLR will introduce even further "cautions" on top of the already slow charging curve and/or on real max SoC% (i.e. a larger buffer). It's true that H441 notice doesn't say that but it's also true it doesn't say they won't change buffer and/or charging parameters ....

Correct; that is a temporary risk-mitigiation measure if the new software detects whatever anomolie appears to correlate with fires. Jag will replace the individual battery cells or the whole battery, based on further diagnosis.

Booked in for a 'while you wait' appointment on the 4th July.
Didn't even get chance to mention H441. "Hi, I got an I-Pace subject to the " "Ah yes, lets see when we can fit you in."
Not used this dealer before so hope the appointment goes as well as the booking in process.

That’s great. My dealer said best to throw caution to the wind in case a replacement part is required etc. They will also charge it to see how it goes. So I have a loan car. Never driven a Ranger Rover Evoque. It’s pushed the booking out to late July though. Without a loaner they could book me in next week but I want to keep mobile.

Had mine updated for H441 today. After the update the battery version shows BS-AAE-BC-AC-BE in the car (CK-AAE-BC-AC-BE before). Telematics and infotainment version did not change.
