Map update failure - Touch Pro

I downloaded latest (Oct) map update onto a Usb stick I've previously used. Map started top upload to the car as expected whilst Was sat in the drive with the ignition pin. Then i had to exit the car, leaving the ignition on, to speak to a neighbour and the car switched itself off ( because I had the key in my pocket perhaps? ) during the map update which obviously caused it to fail. Now the may won't update and I get the error message inviting me to retry. I have retried multiple times, even tried a different USB stick with a fresh download on, restarting the info system, locking the car for several days etc all to no avail. I can't be the first person to have caused a map update to fail so is there a way to sort without visiting the dealer which in my case is a 160 mile round trip? Grateful for any advice as to things I can try.

This is a suggestion and not guaranteed to work.

Remove the stick. Shut the car off and let it sit for 1/2 hour (4 hours would be better). Power up the car and wait the usual amount of time for the navigation to boot up (about 1.5 minutes or so - I've never timed it).

Does it boot up? Can you get into it? If so, put in the stick and see if the update will start again.

Thanks but tried that even with a new download on a different stick. Gets as far as starting the update appearing to start updating before failing and showing the screen on original post.

Many users have this issue, the old map gets deleted and the new one won’t load, probably best to stick with the original map, the Touch Pro system is pretty flaky, does anyone know if Pivi maps are more reliable to update.

PiviPro maps seem to update over the air seamlessly. I have to say that going though the usb saga every month on my last car was a real pain. Clive.

I tend to agree, only having done it the once so far. Although, in my previous car (a base Outlander PHEV with no satnav) I used a Tom Tom that also needed plugging in to the PC for upates, but that was a 10 minute process. I guess I am still conditioned by that experience.

Maybe my next I-Pace ... ;)
