I've just downloaded the latest map software for my Ipace and inserted the USB stick. All seems well until about 30% into the update then I get this message. Has anyone else had this?
I updated mine for the first time yesterday directly from a USB stick. I even got out of the car at about 66% completion, when I came back, the car had switched off, but my map update had completed, at least that is what the car told me when I tried to update again.Goshdarnit said:Same for me. I had data available mind you, but so far as I could tell, everything was done "offline" using just the USB stick.
Can't argue with that! The whole process is pretty cumbersome, especially as it seems to be pretty much a monthly thing.Paul J. said:Ok, I'll try it with another USB stick .... it's just a pain that the download takes so long
That will be a few years from now if people keep buying ICE vehicles....Paul J. said:Different USB stick, different result! I have maps once again, so that the Satnav no longer thinks I am on a planet covered entirely by ocean.![]()
I have two apparently identical models of USB stick, the Sandisk USB 3.1 128GB Ultra fit - one works, the other doesn't. One was made in Malaysia the other in China, the one came pre-formatted FAT32 & works fine, the other exFAT which I quick formatted to FAT32, this doesn't work!!! I work in IT and I find this extremely strange... currently waiting for a Full slow format of the stick that doesn't work to see if that makes a difference.elbocko said:I had this yesterday. I wonder if the I-Pace is very picky on the USB sticks it will use. It has to be a 32Gb stick (or format will be exFAT or NTFS that Jaguar do not recognise), it seems to need a high speed certified USB stick. My map installation was rejected in the same way, I bought a new High Speed USB stick and downloaded directly to the stick and I now have working navigation again. If Jaguar are going to be picky on the devices, they should publish it.baz99 said:I've just downloaded the latest map software for my Ipace and inserted the USB stick. I have also found it is picky about media USB sticks as well and my metal 32Gb stick, on which navigation update failed, gets hot when used as media provider.
Are you sure one's not a fake? There are a lot of them about ....neverhood said:I have two apparently identical models of USB stick, the Sandisk USB 3.1 128GB Ultra fit - one works, the other doesn't. LongShot: I've had problems (unrelated to iPace etc) with USB stick formatted "on one device" and then used "on another device", but I don't know how you could influence that.Paul J. said:Ok, I'll try it with another USB stick ....
No idea.... they both look identical except for the "made in..." locationscm said:Are you sure one's not a fake? I had a fake supplied from a reputable source once - it looked perfectly fine to me except that when I tried to format it, it showed as a considerably smaller capacity than it was supposed to be. I sent photos of the packaging and device to SanDisk who confirmed it wasn't genuine and the supplier sent a replacement, so even they can be fooled.neverhood said:No idea.... they both look identical except for the "made in..." locationscm said:Are you sure one's not a fake? I have had a number of fake Sandisk micro SD cards from an Internet source which were rejected by my Mavic Pro because of transfer speed. I tried a couple of cheap USB sticks in the I-Pace for both media and Navigation update to which the Jag responded "I spit on your cheap USB sticks". I bought a 32GB USB 3.0 from PCWorld and it works fine. Don't know if it is a speed issue or just the quality of the USB sticks. I also tried a 64GB USB for media but Jag does not like exFAT.scm said:I had a fake supplied from a reputable source once - it looked perfectly fine to me except that when I tried to format it, it showed as a considerably smaller capacity than it was supposed to be. I've got one that works, thanks for the offer - just confused why the one does and the other doesn't - really appreciate the gesturePcheaven said:This is a picture of my one. Which I got from Asda a week or so ago.
More than happy to post it to you, if you want to borrow it.
