Updated to 3.3.0 on 23rd with no issues so far. Car advised it would take 35 minutes.

Here's a copy of the release notes I found elsewhere.

Name: OS 3.3.0

Estimated installation time: 0 h 45 m

Included in this release are performance enhancements to the

Pivi infotainment system along with stability improvements to Amazon AlexaTM, Apple CarPlayTM, Android AutoTM and connectivity improvements.

This release also includes a number of new and improved features.

What's new:

- Additional options for assigning to the steering wheel favourite button (diamond icon) Available options vary by vehicle specification and model year.

- New control added to the navigation home tile to allow easier back and forth switching between Pivi Pro navigation and Apple CarPlay / Android Auto navigation apps.

- Revised start-up/shut-down experience: Welcome screen shown earlier and touchscreen remains on for longer after vehicle shutdown to allow settings to be changed at end of journey.

Additional controls available via the Pivi speech recognition system:

- Heated and cooled seat control e.g. "Hey <wake word> set passenger seat heating to 2'

- Place of interest support improvements e.g. "Hey <wake-up word> I'm hungry" or "Hey <wake-up word> find a coffee shop near me"

- Turn navigation voice guidance on/ off e.g. "Hey <wake-up word> voice guidance on/off"

Navigation improvements:

- Improved Pivi Pro navigation experience for commutes.

- View traffic on your commute in the homescreen navigation panel.

- ETA (estimated time of arrival) information added to the homescreen and Interactive Driver Display when in a commute.

- General commutes performance improvement including 'auto start commutes'

- Personalised Routes - With the system having learnt your regular routes (Learn My Routes enabled in navigation settings), Personalised Routes (enabled in navigation settings) will aim to incorporate the roads you know best into your journeys towards regular destinations.

- Enhanced Smart Voice Guidance experience (enabled in navigation settings along with Personalised Routes): Provides voice guidance only on the sections of your route you are less familiar with e.g when traveling towards home on roads you're familiar with voice guidance will automatically mute. If diverted on to unfamiliar roads, voice guidance automatically unmutes.

- Waypoint information is now also shown in the home tile.

- 11.4 and 13.1" screens only: More effective use of the available screen area used by the navigation support panels.

General Improvements:

- Improved calibration for wireless charging when used with Apple MagSafe devices.

- Multiple UI/UX improvements.

- Multiple usability enhancements to the USB media interface.

EV vehicle only improvements:

- Select the preferred minimum charge level (charge comfort level) the navigation system uses in planning charging stops.

- Improvement to the accuracy of the predicted range when a destination is set.

- The recommended charge level when arriving at a charge stop is shown for longer.

- Significant performance improvement to the range map (shown only when no destination is set).

- Charge Station Brand Filters. From saved destinations, you can now access the list of 'Providers Preferences' and select your preference for each brand from preferred to avoid. Searches for charge stations will then be ordered accordingly.

IMPORTANT NOTES:

- Live Apps such as Weather & Parking (where available) will be deleted as part of the update. These are typically automatically downloaded and updated on the next available journey (subject to connectivity).

- PHEV / BEV vehicles only: Please disconnect the vehicle charger and ensure the vehicle battery has a minimum charge level of 25% before starting the update.

For me, the missing function remains the ability to use the favourites button for selecting regen. I like to set it for Lo on motorways and Hi for urban. Having to do multiple touchscreen actions is a dangerous distraction.

Otherwise, the ability to choose between Pivi and Apple for navigation is welcome as I like to drive at night with the touchscreen switched off. Now I can have the screen off, directions on the dashboard and have Carplay available for messaging, ABRP and Zap-Map when needed. Positive steps.

It doesn't show a version until it has had an update, that seems always to have been the pattern. It does make you wonder what version is being loaded in the factory.

3.3.0 successfully installed today after 3 attempts. The ability to select your preferred charging provider and the comfort charging % at destination/intermediate waypoint are very welcome improvements. Also the icon for switching between CarPlay and Jaguar Nav is useful.

I have a new (to me!) MY21 and performed the software update on 23/08. Since then, nothing is working on the info system… Apple Car Play etc. Even the climate control is stuck on 17deg! Can anybody help please? Is there a system reset? Thanks.

so I have had JLR remote assist out to the car today, and they think the update has buggered up the camera module, which is now not working, they can't update the camera module from the engineer's laptop, so they are fitting a new camera on Wednesday, so fingers crossed it works!

The update triggered a full alarm cycle and theft alert. Left the alarm going for a while annoying my neighbours as I was a bit worried about disrupting the update cycle.

The alarm ultimately went fully mental honking the horn in addition to the alarm warble and I had to give in and unlock the car or face a lynch mob if angry neighbours.

The car now tells me the update is completed so will need to see if anything is broken.

Same here. Alarm went off and despite unlocking the car, I couldn’t gain entry as the door handles wouldn’t retract. Also, the pedestrian warning sound was energised as if the car was running. Fortunately for me the car was in the garage so no impact on the neighbours and after about half an hour, I could gain entry. All seems ok now and software installed ok.

Update seems to be successful so far, strangely the clock time was one hour out but updated after 5 mins driving. I did notice car made the low speed noise during the whole update whilst locked inside the garage, perhaps this is normal! Everything else seems to work, more miles tomorrow….

Mine ran the battery cooler fan throughout the update process rather than making any driving noise.

Oddly it failed once due to "connectivity" and twice due to battery "please.drive more' before successfully completing and setting off all alarms pissing off my neighbours. This was my worst update experience to date but probably only have one major update left in the 12 months I am likely to keep the car.

So an update to say after two new camera modules and a battle with the modules' firmware, my initial issues are fixed; the bad news is the sat nav is gone, as is the map on the driver's instrument panel/cluster. Less than amused at the moment, but I'm guessing this is the life of a jaguar driver

There is much wrong with JLR customer service but this is a weird one. I don't see how a software update should have knocked out physical hardware it just should not be possible. What is pretty inexcusable is the failure to allow rollback of software installation in the event something goes awry like this.

Interestingly this morning my car wouldn't get past the welcome screen including the central screen not showing sat Nav but just a picture of the car. It has only done this once so far so I reset Pivi Pro by holding down the off/volume knob for 20 seconds and it reset itself back to normal. IT may not work for you but maybe worth a try

So now the SatNav is now not working. As apparently nothing to do with the software or replacement camera modules. I’ve had jaguar assist out again and he says that it need to go in to a service centre as the jaguar pivi pro is unresponsive but strangely car play works so I’m using that for the next two weeks as that is the 1st appointment I could get.
