Your car needs TCU software update. 20.2 is current version. This will display the value. Sometimes you can tap check for update and that might trigger it to display. Sometimes you back out of this display and then back to it and it will display. It depends on the TCU and Infotainment versions. I expect it has S22A for Infotainment.

Thanks, I will try that. In any event, I already have the car booked in to another dealer on 4 September and will ask them to update TCU and verify that H441 has been done.

Interesting ! My 2019 vehicle went in for H441 update yesterday. Doubted that it had been done as my car was returned to me within 20 minutes, so I went to check…

no information at all here on the last update nor the BECS!
I checked on osh.jaguar.com and Topix…both indicate that the H441 update is outstanding.
It likely will take a few days for the update to register in the Topix system if I had to guess.
Also, if you're on an older software version (believe it's the TCU, which you are, latest is 20.2) then it does not display the BECS version.

There are several threads on H441. This is in my follow list. It’s been just over 30 days. Of those, cat was in sleep for 7 days. No warnings as yet.
Does it mean if you make the 30 day mark without a glitch you’re in the clear? Or has anyone had this on for example, Day 50? I am guessing it is in an indefinite piece of software. Could be wrong. Indefinite as in, if a fault is identified at Day 50, then relevant action will still be taken.

v3 of H441 software announcement is available in the US per AyePace. No word on the actual software update.....

I'm happy to report that contrary to my initial belief, it seems H441 has not slowed down DC charging under normal conditions. Yesterday I had a charging session from 8% to 71% with 57.09 kWh charged within 37m 37s. An average "speed" of almost 100kW and even at 71% it was sill running at 85 kW :)

2020 HSE In Connecticut, USA: Ever since the H441 update has been installed, my car is charging only at around 2 kW/hr at level 2 chargers( I will include the Wattcat charging logs). In the past it used to charge at around 6-7 kW/hr. After the update, it is charging only at 2 kW/hr, taking 26-30 hours to charge from 25-75%. The dealership had absolutely no explanation. Jaguar NA had no explanation. The car is practically unusable with these charging speeds.

Make sure they update the PiviPro software as well as H441 or you could find yourself stuck with 3.3.2 for who knows how long. I believe the latest software which also includes H441 is 4.0.0.
Many moons ago Steve you said this well my tale of woe continues.
As the car had not updated any software updates since February 2023 I did take it in and was assured by the main dealer that the relevant Main series 4 update and its H441 'add on' had been correctly installed. The only thing was that the car still sat there saying last...... version 3.3.2.
After a few weeks I decided that it was not going to change so, today, it was checked over by the Jaguar stage 4! mechanic/technician who not only uploaded the door interlock H447 but did some updates on other modules, what remains a mystery. Talking to technicians is like talking to bank managers when you have no money!
The car has been returned and I am assured that the car, should when relevant, S.O.T.A.
The trouble is the car is still stubbonly sitting there with version 3.3.2 on display.
As I tried to tell the Jag intermediary it is like a Windows PC you say it is has had a safety update but it say its hasn't, how do I know if it has got the updates?

Is anyone else sitting with notifications from the car that it has older software versions than have actually been installed?

Many thanks

Dave

H441 just completed, In at 8:00 am, out at 08:45. Software now seems to be up to BU:

Would be interested to know if you have the same issues pausing a charge from the remote app (or other methods MyPace, WattCat, Octopus etc) since having BU?
I will check tomorrow.

Hi elbocko, just wondering how you got on with the check please?
Sorry, @marts4, I forgot.. But using Wattcat the other day with the limit set at 80%, yes it did pause.
I will try to remember tomorrow 'again'.

Did some testing today, BU-AAJ-BE-AE-BE , post H441 update. The JLR remote pausing action can be very flaky and the App seems to get out of sink with the car and the JLR servers so pausing can be unreliable, as can restarting the charge. WattCat was very predictable even after the JLR App reported unable to confirm charging state, I do not know about MyPace. I tried pausing the charge and then restarting with the JLR App and it mostly failed to restart the charge reporting an unknown state. I tried pausing and restarting the charge via WattCat and this just worked. I then tried pausing the charge with one app and restarting it with the other. Again starting the charge with the JLR App nearly always failed. Restarting with WattCat could be delayed by a minute or so following a pause from the JLR App but still restarted the charge. I also tried aborting the Apps in between Pausing and restarting them but from my standpoint this made little difference.
The implications are that the car is talking to the JLR servers and appears to be responding. In the main, once they have sorted themselves out, the servers seem to be responding OK. There does seem to be a timing issue with the JLR App which WattCat seems to by-pass. Maybe WattCat nags the servers into submission?

Thanks Elbocko, an insightful post. Apologies I didn’t respond sooner, I didn’t see the notification you had replied!

One thing I’m interested to know; is whether you had the same charging control issues (seemingly more Remote app than others), prior to it going in for the H441 update?

I've read through the threads here and on the i-paceforum.com too.
Here is my experience, so far, with the H441 update on my MY19 SE. Not received any other correspondence so far, eg H459, apart from mystery email.
  1. Received H441 letter from JLR dated 23/6
  2. I had to cancel the first appointment to have the update done on 27/7
  3. Update done 16/8
  4. Various short charges, none to 100%, mainly on home PodPoint charger.
  5. Nov. 15th - mystery message with spelling errors (missing word) supposedly from JRL dealer with external links to a 'Confidential Message' that I wasn't prepared to follow - image below.
  6. Emailed sender to that effect, no response.
  7. Intermittent 'Traction Battery Fault Detected, OK To Drive with Caution' messages. A few cold nights (cat lives outdoors) so wondered if 12v batteries might be the issue. *
  8. Dec. 6th - car charges to 100% unbidden. PodPoint has times to match E.on night EV tariff
  9. 'Traction Battery Fault Detected, OK To Drive with Caution' message now there at every startup.
  10. Dec. 27th - WattCat set to limit charge to 80% - stopped at 72%
  11. Booked i-pace to be looked at on Feb 13th - at least that's not a Friday :)
* Both could be originals but Bluetooth monitors show them to be OK.

Excuse the dust.

My experience is that you will be restricted to 72% maximum charge from now on and that the range that gives you will steadily decrease. It took me 3 months to get to the point where they were changing the Traction Battery (because of parts shortages and lack of workshop/technician shortages). Meanwhile, the range I could achieve was reducing all the time. It took less than an hour for the dealer to test the battery and decide a new one was required and the sooner you can get that done the quicker you will get the problem fixed. If you have to wait until 13th February before they even decide to change the battery you will be lucky to get the car back fully functioning before April.
Good luck!

Thanks @Thincat - I did think I ought to see if I could get the car in for a quick diagnostic before February if possible. I'll pop in to the dealer unannounced and see if I can talk to a service advisor. Jag i-pace technicians seem in short supply, and in very high demand.

WattCat shows me 195 miles @ 72%, this is based on local usage, very little fast road driving. Fortunately I don't have any longer journeys planned until the summer, even so, if I can speed up whatever fix is needed it'll make sense to do so.
