Many thanks - that looks good. Can you show a different map in the driver display and the centre touchscreen? Does it do the full screen also? And I guess from what has been shared above, HUD would only show directions if using the native Pivi Navigation? Thank you for the quick response

Yes ive had Waze or Apple Maps in the centre screen and if you then turn on pivi nav that will show in the drivers display and hud. or just launch CarPlay/Waze after setting pivi nav and you'll get the carplay apps in the centre screen and pivi in the hud/drivers. Only when you set a route in carp play will it show in the drivers display.
One reason I default everytime to Pivi is Apple Maps or Waze etc cant pinch and zoom on the big screen where you can in native car map. Also Pivi seems to find everything I need in the search bar, chargers, venues, businesses. Also took me nicely round a big queue on the A1 yesterday!, perfect.. Although didnt know later on that a road was 40 and contraflow.. nothings perfect..

Remember to go back to Pivi nav from CarPlay you need to go back to Home Screen select nav and choose there.

A benefit of the on-board nav system I've discovered, it seems to sometimes have better info related to certain things such as road closures. For example this week both Google Maps and Waze routed me through a local road that was actually temporarily closed for two days for paving work. The on-board nav routed me around it, and showed that section of road as being closed. Pretty cool. :) Pivi 4.0.0 seems to also improve the Commutes listing visuals on the home screen. I've also noticed the bird's-eye view in reverse now becomes available even if you don't wait for the loading progress bar to complete upon startup.

How can you tell if you have pivi 4.0 please?
I cannot get any maps on the instrument cluster it just shows a car whether on the left, right or full screen?
I can get the map on the centre screen but nothing on the instrument cluster?

I had that issue on the instrument cluster a few days after installing Pivi 4.0. It went back to maps properly after the car had been parked and locked for a few hours and hasn't appeared since.

That's interesting. Have you restarted Pivi at all? Wonder if a Pivi restart then leaving it to sleep would do it? (No idea why, but I've given up applying the usual software behaviour logic to iPaces).

Go to Settings -> All -> Software Update to check the version to check you are on 4.x

If Pivi reboot (~20s holding the Pivi Power button) didn’t help, you could try rebooting your phone.

Remember iPhone CarPlay only shows Apple Maps in cluster and Android Auto only shows Google Maps on the cluster.

Thanks for this I Paced I have just checked this and the software is 3.3.2, this after I specifically asked if all the software was up to even stated piri 4.0!
Regarding the map in the cluster I was trying to get the normal navigation in the cluster not even google or apple maps and I couldn't get this either left, right or full screen it just showed a car instead?
Also on the way home tonight i tried to see if I could get the map to show in the HUD (it was checked to do so in the settings) and this just showed a rainbow of blocked colours when it was meant to show the turning, junctions etc.
It seems a couple of software bugs that do not stop me using the car but ultimately need sorting out.

Hello all. This is my first post as I just received the new car yesterday. Loads a great info in this forum!!!

I am a bit lost, and I would appreciate your help. I am not sure on what software version I am, since the screen only says “Vehicle software is up to date” and the last software installed is blank. From what I read in this thread, I am not sure if I am on version 4.0.0:
  • The “P” shows on the camera icon
  • I get the reminder to take my phone from the charging pad
  • However, in the dashboard I get the Pivi map, rather than Apple Maps, which I have in the central screen.
I have selected navigation using my phone (CarPlay), planned a route and it works perfectly in the central screen, but in the dashboard I only get the Pivi map without directions. Same thing with Google Maps via CarPlay.

The mobile data is working in the car, I have it connected to strong wifi signal at home and the car is fully charged. How can I get the latest SW version? Thanks in advance

Thanks for the reply, but it seems to be the same thread
It was a link to a comment that specifically says how to check the SW version you have. To quote it:

Go to Settings -> All -> Software Update to check the version to check you are on 4.x

Yes, that is a good sign, but then again, why in the dashboard I get the Pivi map and not the Apple Map?
You do not see a version in Pivi until an update has actually been applied. So if you have been supplied with up to date software when you get the car you won't see a version appear until the next update is applied. Agree the functionality you are shown was only present in the latest update so you should be on 4.0.

You only see the Apple/Google map in the dash screen when you are actually navigating using them (i.e. you have a destination set using the non Pivi Nav).

Hmm, I setup a destination in Apple Maps and this is what I get: directions in main screen using Apple Maps, Pivi map (no directions) in the dashboard

Thanks again for the help
