Don't you need to change your screen arrangement on the dash to display a map screen as you would for pivi nav on the dash screen?

I have mine configured with the one central dial, media to the left nav to the right and it works fine (Google/android). I don't know if every display type works.

Thanks for the messages. I have tried everything I could think of:
  • 1 dial, set navigation on left panel
  • 1 dial set navigation on right panel
  • 2 dials set navigation in the middle
  • Remove navigation from all the above, set something else (media, blank, trip, etc) and then try navigation again
  • Set the entire dashboard to map
  • Removed my phone (forget Bluetooth pairing) and pair again the phone
  • Reset Pivi by pressing the on/off button until it reboots
  • Set navigation to Pivi, set a route and cancel
  • Set navigation to CarPlay, set a route and cancel
I have ran out of ideas, it works 100% with Pivi on both screens. Apple Maps works fine on the main screen, but no way of getting it to the dashboard. I don’t know, should I check with the dealer? Do you know if there is a help desk they can advise?

My iPhone is far from the latest model (XR) but I checked yesterday running iOS 16 and today with iOS 17 and still “computer says no”

If you have any other idea, please let me know. Thanks again for the support

I don’t know what else you can do. Do you know anyone else with an iPhone that would be willing to try it on your car, at least that might rule out something odd with your phone.
Or an android phone should work in the same way providing you use Google maps.

Thanks, but I also tried with my partner’s iPhone 13 and same result, so it seems to be something with the SW. Maybe the version installed when manufactured was not the final version released to everyone. I will call the dealer to see if they can push the latest version OTA. Thanks again

Apologies I haven’t read all the posts. If you go into iPhone settings on the phone, scroll down to maps, make sure you have Mobile Data checked and Location selected to While Using.
worth a try as I remember having similar issue.

Yep, both are setup. Apple Maps via CarPlay works flawlessly, but just in the central screen; for Apple Maps the dashboard does not exist

Hello all. A quick update, I took the car to the dealer and they were able to install the latest version of Pivi and finally I get Apple Maps in the dashboard. Thank you for all your feedback.

One more question, is there any way to include directions (next turn, which roundabout exit, etc) in the dashboard? Although I can see the route highlighted in the map, it would be better to have the navigation instructions (I know having them in the HUD is too much to ask)

On my pre-Pivi cat, my HUD has distance to a turn and an animated turn indication. The green arrow on the right moves as the car approaches the turn. Both of these activate as the car nears the turn and go off after the turn. These appear to be enabled via the car configuration file that a dealer can update. The display of navigation data is an option for the HUD in my instrument panel menu. Pivi Pro probably sets the HUD settings differently.

Certainly with Android Auto this doesn't appear possible on PIVI cars. Switch back to Jaguar Nav and this is available.
I'm using Jaguar navigation more than I ever thought I would. Pretty good.

Not wholly similar in Pivi slightly cleaner graphics and you get a mini map view as you approach a turn or junction that shows your progress. Only when using in car nav though, you don't get this with phone Nav.
